Cabrillo Festival Premieres du Bois' Latest Symphonic Work in Santa Cruz, California
WORLD PREMIERE of du Bois' new symphonic work commissioned and performed by the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra conducted by Marin Alsop. Constructed from the beginning to encompass varying degrees of multimedia, spoken word and personal stories, du Bois' latest symphonic work will be premiered during an evening-length multimedia show during the 50th anniversary of the Cabrillo Festival in 2012; more information to be released early 2012

Savannah Music Festival Presents New Chamber Work of Alexandra du Bois in Savannah, Georgia
WORLD PREMIERE of du Bois' most recent chamber work: Commissioned by the Savannah Music Festival and scheduled to be completed during winter 2011, this new work for the combined performing forces Franz Schubert first popularized during the 19th century (the "Trout" instrumentation of piano, violin, viola, cello and double bass) du Bois' quintet will be performed by violinist Daniel Hope and Friends; more information to be released early 2012

Los Angeles' Southwest Chamber Music Performs du Bois' "Chanson d'orage" for the Fourth Time
In between two of W.A. Mozart's string quintets, violinists Shalini Vijayan & Lorenz Gamma will perform Chanson d'orage for the fourth time. Commissioned by the 2009 Savannah Music Festival and premiered by violinists Daniel Hope and Lorenza Borrani, Alexandra du Bois' Chanson d'orage was toured by Southwest Chamber Music throughout Vietnam and Los Angeles during the 2010 Ascending Dragon Music Festival. Southwest Chamber music will present the work to Southern California audiences again during summer 2011.

PALS Children's Chorus Premieres Alexandra du Bois Latest Choral Work in Cambridge, Massachusetts
WORLD PREMIERE of Alexandra du Bois' Prologue: The Quechol's Cry for large children's choir, string quartet and prepared piano with a libretto compiled and edited by conductor and Artistic Director Alysoun Kegel and the Alexandra du Bois. Libretto is a combination of text, flashpoints and inherent inspiration from the Nahuatl people and Native American cultures. Commissioned and performed by PALS Children's Chorus, Boston, Massachusetts.
